Multitudes

A neuroaffirmative support project

Building a culture of understanding that supports the needs and strengths of all neurotypes.

Multitudes will advance care and coverage options for neurodivergent individuals by co-designing person-centered systems of meaningful support, in partnership with trusted medical and mental healthcare providers and informed, at every stage, by a diversity of neurocognitive perspectives.

Participatory design

The existing healthcare path for neurodivergent individuals was not designed with our goals or experiences at the center. Autistic healthcare patients stand to benefit from a neurodiversity-informed model of medical and mental health support that does not include behavioral intervention.

When designing care pathways for autistic individuals, the U.S. healthcare system has not yet incorporated the work of advocacy groups or centered voices from the neurodiversity movement. Institutional patterns continue to frame unmet needs as behavioral issues—and default to behaviorist approaches that prioritize compliance over learning or support.

As with other movements that recognize the dignity of marginalized groups, we see the importance of starting from autistic perspectives. Rather than imposing external expectations, this project proposes community research and patient‑centered inquiry to elicit the self-defined goals of neurodivergent adults and children. We seek to identify common needs and goals across the neurodiverse community and translate these themes into actionable program elements.

Multitudes sees an immediate opportunity to improve the care experiences of neurodivergent individuals by allocating resources more effectively. Our goal is to build support structures that generate stability and protect autonomy. Through network-building, resource-vetting, and educational consulting, we aim to replace behavior‑modification models with a robust system of neuroaffirmative, goal‑aligned care.
